Detroit People Mover 2.0
Detroit People Mover 2.0 is a public-private partnership formed to help realize the expansion of the
People Mover to link Detroit's current system with key civic assets along the Woodward Corridor including
the New Center and Henry Ford Hospital, the AMTRAK station, the Cultural Center and Wayne State
University, the Detroit Medical Center, Comerica Park and Ford Field and the existing People Mover
System serving the Downtown Business District.

The partnership operates as a XXXXXXXXXXX and includes the principals and other organizations as
detailed below. Funding for planning and other activities has been received from XXXXXXXXX Foundation
and the YYYYYYYYY Foundation.

Managing Principal
Marsden H. Burger
Detroit, Michigan

Marsden H. Burger has over 35 years of experience in the application of advanced transportation technology.  He has
three times held positions responsible for the United States for the marketing of advanced transportation systems.  He
has been involved in the planning of transit projects from the supplying side in over 100 cities in five countries, and
has been a member of the development team on six different advanced transportation systems.  He was the first
Detroit based representative for Urban Transportation Development Corporation of Toronto, the firm that built the
Detroit People Mover, and one of the original three people that set up the firm’s US based subsidiary.  Mr. Burger
served as coordinating systems engineer, for the design of the Detroit People Mover vehicle, and, for a time, for the
construction of the Detroit People Mover itself.  Later, he was in charge of the Detroit People Mover’s operation for
two years.

Mr. Burger has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cabintaxi Corporation, now inactive; a Detroit based
firm working to apply advanced transportation technology in the private sector.  He holds a Masters Degree from Kent
State University with a major in Geography, specializing in the application of advanced transportation systems.  His
Masters thesis (completed in 1978) dealt with the application of high speed Maglev systems.
